We are looking to hire a driven and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to complement our highly skilled team. This is a permanent full-time position based in our Jandakot Office. 

Responsibilities

  • Creating conceptual designs. 
  • Performing engineering calculations and analysis. 
  • Conducting or participating in design reviews. 
  • Creating complete design packages with drawings, BOM’s, and documentation. 
  • Designing enabling equipment, such as test fixtures, handling aids, etc. 
  • Participating in operational risk assessments. 
  • Designing modifications to existing equipment. 
  • Preparing scopes of supply and general arrangements. 
  • Providing cost estimates for proposals. 
  • Preparing project-specific procedures or manuals. 
  • Performing product testing onshore or offshore. 
  • Writing test procedures and building specialized testing equipment. 
  • Writing and reviewing technical proposals and specifications. 
  • Supporting and communicating with customers, project managers, project engineers, and technicians. 
  • Providing engineering status and progress reports. 

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. 
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar 3D CAD packages. 
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
  • Uncompromising attitude toward safety.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ relevant engineering experience. 

Desired Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Experience performing FEA, structural calculations, and hydraulic analysis. 
  • Knowledge of subsea ROV tooling is strongly desired. 
  • Knowledge of operations in the subsea industry is strongly desired. 
  • Experience with electro-hydraulic control systems. 
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to work under general direction. 
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure onshore/offshore environment. 
  • Studies or project work with ROV and/or Subsea equipment design and engineering. 
  • Hands on mechanical experience such as building or repairing large or small engines or machines.
