As an Engineer III, you'll lead the development and continuous improvement of environmental technology solutions that support critical business and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will serve as a technical and business lead for EMIT (Environmental Management Intelligence Tool), partnering with Environmental, Operations, IT, Asset Analytics, and external stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize development efforts, improve data quality, and deliver scalable solutions that modernize environmental data collection, calculation, validation, and reporting.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental technology solutions, including the Environmental Management Intelligence Tool (EMIT), supporting regulatory compliance, emissions management, and operational reporting. 
  • Serves as the business lead and subject matter expert for environmental data workflows, partnering with IT and development teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, validate functionality, and support solution deployment. 
  • Works independently on complex projects involving environmental systems, emissions data management, process improvement, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders across OS&R and Information Technology to deliver business solutions and resolve technical challenges. 
  • Translates regulatory, operational, and customer requirements into business processes, workflow designs, user stories, and system requirements. 
  • Leads evaluation and improvement of environmental data quality, asset information, reporting processes, and system integrations with enterprise platforms. 
  • Provides technical leadership for environmental reporting, emissions calculations, data governance, and digital process modernization initiatives. 
  • Coordinates testing, user acceptance activities, training, and change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new tools and processes. 
  • Develops and delivers presentations, demonstrations, and project updates to leadership, stakeholders, and end users. 
  • Maintains a strong understanding of environmental regulations, emissions reporting requirements, operational processes, and emerging technologies.
  • Champions safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all assigned initiatives.
  • May lead project teams, facilitate workshops, and coordinate resources to identify and resolve technical, operational, and project management issues. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading business-driven software or digital transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental reporting, emissions inventories, greenhouse gas programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with data management, workflow automation, reporting systems, and enterprise integrations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and collaborate effectively with software development teams.
  • Experience with Agile project delivery, user story development, testing, and stakeholder engagement.

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum four (4) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

Other Requirements:

  • Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and deems safety an utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Preferred: FE Certification
  • Preferred: Project Management experience
