About the role
We are looking for a Gas Turbine Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for carrying out gas turbine inspections, supporting workshop quality activities, and ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements.
This position will be based in our ASOS workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bulk strip and detailed strip inspections of gas turbines.
- Prepare engine bulk strip and detailed defect reports.
- Carry out stage inspections during engine builds.
- Control workshop Control Order Files and supporting documentation.
- Support the Quality Assurance Representative in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Ensure all workshop measuring equipment is calibrated, approved, and certified in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Assist with the development and revision of workshop procedures as required.
- Source suitable and cost-effective alternatives to OEM materials, repairs, and overhaul services.
- Coordinate the shipping and receipt of materials to and from approved vendors.
- Progress and expedite subcontract repair and overhaul activities to ensure minimum turnaround times.
- Obtain cost-effective repair, overhaul, and replacement solutions for engine materials.
- Issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for materials supplied to and purchased by customers.
- Support shop-floor fitting activities as directed by the Charge Hand or Operations Manager.
- Perform any other reasonable duties relevant to the role.
Education Requirements (Desirable)
- NC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Candidates without formal qualifications may be considered if they can demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role.
Experience Required
- Previous experience in a Gas Turbine Inspector role or a similar position.
- Experience within a gas turbine maintenance, repair, or overhaul workshop environment is highly desirable.
- Good communication skills in English, you will be working closely with customers.
Knowledge & Technical Requirements
- Working knowledge of industrial gas turbines and/or power turbines and associated equipment.
- Ability to interpret Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC).
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, defect identification, and reporting.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection standards.
