1st W/K Engineer for Dredger
Responsibilities
- Responsible for safe and efficient operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all engine-room machinery and equipment onboard a Cutter Suction Dredger.
- Supervise and coordinate engine-room crew and ensure proper watchkeeping standards.
- Operate and maintain main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, generators, compressors and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain and monitor dredging-related machinery, including dredge pumps, cutter drive/hydraulic systems and associated equipment.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance and ensure machinery remains in reliable operating condition.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults and coordinate timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate engine-room logs, maintenance records, spare-parts inventory and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISM, class, flag-state, HSE and company requirements.
- Monitor fuel, lube oil, cooling water and other machinery consumables and optimize consumption.
- Coordinate with the Chief Engineer, Dredge Master and shore technical team regarding vessel operations and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure safe working practices, toolbox meetings, permit-to-work procedures and LOTO requirements are followed.
- Participate in dry-docking, major overhauls, repairs, inspections and commissioning activities.
- Respond effectively to machinery breakdowns and emergencies, minimizing disruption to dredging operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering
5-10 Years's experience onboard Dredger.
Basic & Advanced STCW training certification.
Medical fitness certificate as per ILO/MLC requirement.
