Location: Prudhoe Bay, Alaska
Rotation: 14x14 or 21x21 (days or nights, including weekends and holidays)

Responsibilities

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on rig mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with established maintenance requirements.
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test mechanical equipment to maintain safe and reliable operation.
    • Inspect major rig equipment and mechanical systems to identify wear, damage, leaks, defects, or other conditions requiring repair or adjustment.
    • Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, replacements, and calibrations as required.
    • Support the installation, removal, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and components at the rig site.
    • Monitor equipment condition and communicate emerging maintenance concerns to rig leadership before they result in equipment failure or operational disruption.
    • Maintain an adequate inventory of critical spare parts, consumables, tools, and maintenance supplies.
    • Initiate parts and material requisitions as necessary to support maintenance activities and equipment readiness.
    • Participate in rig-up, rig-down, and rig-move activities, including the proper disconnection, preparation, transportation, reconnection, and inspection of mechanical equipment.
    • Verify mechanical equipment is properly installed and operational following rig moves, repairs, or maintenance activities.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation as required.
    • Follow applicable safety procedures, operating practices, and environmental requirements while performing maintenance activities.
    • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities with rig leadership and other departments to reduce operational interruptions and equipment downtime.
    • Identify unsafe equipment conditions and promptly communicate deficiencies requiring corrective action.
    • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, investigations, and other safety-related activities as required.
    • Perform other duties reasonably associated with the position and operational needs.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment using appropriate tools, technical information, and diagnostic methods.
    • Ability to identify equipment defects and determine appropriate corrective action.
    • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, specifications, and maintenance instructions.
    • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to work effectively with rig crews, supervisors, and maintenance personnel in a field environment.
    • Strong attention to safety, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance.
    • Ability to prioritize maintenance activities in a fast-paced operational environment.
    • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and parts documentation.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 1–2 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience, preferably in drilling, oilfield, heavy equipment, industrial, or a related environment.
    • Working knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, safety procedures, equipment manuals, and maintenance requirements.
    • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other tools associated with mechanical maintenance and repair.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, safety-sensitive drilling environment.
    • Must possess a valid, REAL ID-compliant driver's license and meet applicable requirements for travel to remote Alaska work locations.
    • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment and site-specific drug, alcohol, medical, and/or fitness-for-duty requirements, as applicable to the position.
    • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in extreme Arctic conditions, including subzero temperatures, snow, ice, wind, and other adverse weather conditions.
    • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, climb, and work in restricted or confined work areas while performing mechanical duties.
    • Ability to wear and work in required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment when required and meet applicable respiratory protection requirements.
    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
