We are looking for a Senior Factories & Installation Engineer - Carcass to join our global Manufacturing Process Engineering (MPE) team.

The MPE team is responsible for developing and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes, driving greater efficiency, safety, quality, and global standardization across our facilities in Açu, Brazil, and Kalundborg, Denmark.

The primary focus of this position will be the Carcass manufacturing process, identifying improvement opportunities, developing technical solutions, and implementing initiatives aimed at optimizing manufacturing performance and processes.

The successful candidate will work in a multicultural and collaborative environment, interacting frequently with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, Supply Chain, and global suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement improvements to processes, machinery, equipment, and production lines related to the Carcass manufacturing process.
  • Analyze manufacturing process performance, identifying bottlenecks, losses, risks, variations, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Lead or participate in the execution of engineering projects, including the installation, assembly, modification, and commissioning of machinery and production lines.
  • Develop concepts, technical specifications, layouts, drawings, technical documentation, and requirements for the acquisition or modification of equipment.
  • Develop mechanical designs using 3D modeling tools.
  • Conduct technical, economic, and operational feasibility studies for new equipment and process improvements.
  • Develop and standardize engineering solutions applicable to the Açu and Kalundborg facilities.
  • Participate in defining global standards for equipment, processes, components, and engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on scope definition, technical evaluation of proposals, manufacturing, inspection, installation, and equipment acceptance.
  • Oversee manufacturing, assembly, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Develop test plans and acceptance criteria, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), when applicable.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and propose corrective and preventive actions for technical and process-related issues.
  • Support Production and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting mechanical issues and improving equipment reliability.
  • Participate in risk assessments related to machinery, processes, and engineering modifications.
  • Ensure that projects comply with safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, and sustainability requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, project schedules, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Monitor performance indicators, costs, schedules, risks, and results for projects under their responsibility.
  • Promote knowledge transfer and the sharing of best practices across facilities.
  • Conduct technical training and support the implementation of new standards and operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Solid professional experience in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering, or related areas.
  • Proven experience in executing industrial projects, including the assembly, installation, modification, or expansion of production lines.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machine elements, materials, tolerances and fits, structures, power transmission systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, forming, assembly, surface treatment, and the manufacturing of mechanical components.
  • Experience in the development of industrial machinery, equipment, fixtures, or tooling.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and technical drawing software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, CATIA, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, diagrams, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
  • Knowledge of project management, including scope definition, planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and supplier coordination.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies, such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, A3, 8D, or similar approaches.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and process optimization methodologies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, charts, and the development of performance tracking tools and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills for meetings, presentations, technical documentation, and collaboration with global teams.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel, particularly between the Açu and Kalundborg facilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
