NOV Flexibles is seeking an experienced Factories & Installation Engineer - Armours to join the Manufacturing Process Engineering (MPE) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading large-scale production line assembly, commissioning, and optimization projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency across manufacturing processes.

The Mechanical Engineer will serve as the technical mechanical lead for projects involving the acquisition, implementation, installation, and commissioning of industrial equipment and production lines. The role will represent the company in technical interfaces with suppliers, ensuring that projects are executed in accordance with engineering, quality, safety, schedule, and cost requirements.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading industrial equipment installation and commissioning projects, serving as the technical interface between the company and equipment suppliers/OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) throughout the project lifecycle—from the engineering and design phase through installation, commissioning, and start-up.
 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the mechanical technical lead for projects involving the implementation of industrial equipment and production lines.
  • Represent the company in technical discussions with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Participate in the definition of engineering solutions and the technical evaluation of supplier proposals.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, layouts, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Monitor and follow up on equipment manufacturing activities, as required.
  • Plan and supervise the mechanical installation of equipment.
  • Coordinate and oversee on-site mechanical assembly and installation activities.
  • Lead mechanical commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Utilities, Production, Maintenance, Automation, Electrical, Procurement, and HSE/Safety teams.
  • Prepare technical reports and monitor project performance indicators and KPIs.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions to increase equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support the development of operating procedures and maintenance plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in the implementation of industrial equipment or production lines.
  • Experience in mechanical installation, assembly, and field supervision.
  • Experience in the commissioning and start-up of industrial equipment.
  • Experience in the technical management and coordination of suppliers.
  • Experience supporting and overseeing multidisciplinary industrial projects.
  • Experience with CAPEX projects.
  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Experience in manufacturing or continuous process industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in machinery alignment and rotating equipment.
  • Knowledge of bearings, bearing housings, and gearboxes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing technical equipment specifications.
  • Knowledge of technical standards and regulations applicable to industrial equipment installation.
  • Experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with 2D CAD software, such as AutoCAD or equivalent.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and detailing software, such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required.
  • German language skills are considered a plus.
